Poker Tips: Three of a Kind

Poker is a unique combination of skills and strategy. Poker players are usually focused and serious when it comes to playing poker. Although it may sound hard to accomplish at first, playing poker efficiently can be done quite easily as soon as you can figure out sets of strategies you can use whenever you play. You need to stick to the strategies you have set earlier for every possible situation in order to avoid making bad calls.

When it comes to playing poker at a level you have always imagines, knowing how to handle your poker hands will greatly influence the outcome of the round you are playing. There are obvious hands such as a Flush or a Full House where you can just press forward and win the pot as long as the relative strength of your hand is quite high when compared to other opponents. However, hands such as Three of a Kind can be trickier to handle.

A good rule of thumb is to eliminate the competition to increase your chances of winning. This requires different approaches, but they are very simple once you understand the concept. If you get Three of a Kind after the flop or after the turn, you can place substantial amount of bet — generally about twice the size of the pot — to quickly eliminate your opponents. With some luck, you will be able to have one or two players playing for the next card; make sure the relative strength of you hard is at a decent level before pressing forward and you will surely win the pot.
