When you are playing poker at casino poker tables, especially in Texas Hold’em poker games, you need to be able to spot the strongest hand you are holding in order to understand the relative strength of it. People playing online poker usually have indicators stating the strongest possible hand combination they are holding, but such indicators are not available in real poker tables; you simply need to understand the hand you are holding. Of course, you will be able to get the assistance of the dealer after showdown — the dealer will read your hand and announce the strongest hand combination.

When it comes to poker hands, most poker player would know instantly the top three poker hands based on the relative strength of each hand. Four of a kind, a hand with four cards of the same rank with an additional kicker, is the third strongest poker hand combination. You can be quite sure about a win if you are getting four of a kind early, possibly before or just after the turn, and you can play it accordingly to win a huge pot. The second strongest poker hand is the Straight Flush; it is a combination of a Straight, where cards of sequential ranks are lined up together, and a Flush, meaning the Straight will all be same-suited. Last but not least, we have the strongest possible poker hand: the Royal Flush. It is an Ace high Straight Flush of A-K-Q-J-10 producing the strongest possible hand in the game of poker.
